We are honoured to present 24 lots from THE SANDY SCHREIER COLLECTION. Sandy’s fashion collection is legendary; the Metropolitan Museum describes it as ‘One of the greatest private collections of 20th century fashion’, and they should know. Click here for more detail.

WE’RE GOING GAGA FOR FASHION! For the first time in the UK, two extraordinary ensembles worn by this musical superstar are going under the hammer. Designed by Russian-born but British-based artist - Karina Akopyan.  Click here for more details.

CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA - ‘The Master of Haute Couture’: 27 fine lots includes  an important group belonging to one of Balenciaga’s ex-models - Francine Chouraki, Señora Francine García-Trevijano, wife of the anti-Franco republican lawyer, philosopher and multi-millionaire Antonio García-Trevijano. She worked as the House model for Balenciaga in Madrid before making her advantageous marriage in the early 1960s (see lots 115, 117 to 133).

MENSWEAR to tempt the inner dandy in men everywhere – dating from the late 18th century to 2000, including a fine embroidered court suit, the final part of the John Cowell collection and gangster Al (Scarface) Capone’s autographed spats!

CHRISTIAN DIOR & JOHN GALLIANO Museum quality pieces include Christian Dior haute couture Spanish-inspired black velvet dress, 1948-49, (lot 91); the rare Trapeze line dress from Saint-Laurent’s first collection as head of the fashion house, S/S 1958 (lot 103), to the tulle confection in shades of café au lait by John Galliano (his last haute couture collection for Dior), 'René Gruau' collection, S/S 2011 (lot 226).

AVANT GARDE FASHION: numerous examples include: a rare Paco Rabanne 'Armour' dress, 1967, with photo of the original owner (lot 148); a rare Alexander McQueen silver gauze ‘Armour’ dress, 'The Hunger' collection, S/S 1996 (lot 223); a rare Martin Margiela 'Retrospective Doll' collection ensemble, S/S 1996 (lot 264).

ROYAL FASHION. As market leaders in the sale of Princess Diana-related material we are proud to present original Elizabeth Emanuel ink sketches for some of Diana’s most important Emanuels creations, including the famous 1981 wedding dress – lots 170-176. Continuing the theme of Royalty – we offer Queen Victoria’s nightie and stockings. She would not be amused! (lots 47,48)
